CPR Reihe

The CPR range was originally designed for PCB milling and drilling. Milling very small circles and drilling holes of 0,2mm is only possible with high-precision equipment. Important changes to mechanics, electronics and software needed to be made. That is why these machines use "Zero Backlash” technology. Circular interpolation has been re-written so that curves, such as the very small circles, are milled in one fluent move. Speed was of course an important issue. What makes standard machines so slow, is the constant accelaration and decellaration, which is unacceptable when it comes to producing PCB's. When introducing the CPR-30/PCB it became clear that such machines were what the market

was waiting for. Not only for the electronics world but also for precision machining is other markets as well. The CPR-30 and CPR-60 have been equipped with stronger hybrid motors and choice of the spindle motor is free and has to be made according to the kind of work that needs to be done. The CPR/PCB milling machines were especially designed for the electronis world. That is why they are delivered with all the necessary accessories for this application.

In the CPR range, profile rail guidings are used. In this way high-precision positioning and movement are possible.
Because rolling resistance is used, high speed with low power can be obtained. These guidings have an extremely long life-expectancy.

Stable construction
“Zero Backlash”
The high-level milling machines use ball lead screws. They are nuts that are filled with small balls that glide over a spindle (screw thread). The standard systems however have a small bit of play. Having no play would cause the nut to block. This small bit of play causes some deviations which are nearly visible in common milling work, but come clearly forward when doing high-precision (µm) work. The Colinbus CPR range uses “Zero Backlash” technology. Special nuts are used that undo the “backlash” – as this play is called.
Multi-functional fixation table

A heavy face-milled T-nut table forms the basics of a Colinbus milling machine. This table in combination with the flexible software gives the user the possibility to fix the material in a number of different ways: by means of a movable strip in the middle of the machine, by corner alignment or by entering a new zero point anywhere on the table. Thanks to this system the machine is not limited to any specific use. If needed a vacuum table (optional) can be placed on top of the T-nut table.

Construction of the Colinbus CPR range is based on Stealt technology: a combination of steel and aluminium that is also used in many modern cars and aeroplanes. Both materials have their own specific advantages and offer a large variety of possibilities if they are combined in the proper way. Steel brings the required weight and volume and the stress-free aluminium is responsible for unseen acceleration and deceleration curves.
Strong hybrid motors and adapted software
Making fast and small movements requires well adapted embedded software. In order to make nice circles special routines have been written. The electronics has been adapted to be able to transmit the high acceleration to the motors. As in other Colinbus series also in this range of machines Colinbus hybrid motors are used.
