Construction of the Colinbus CPR-30 range is fully based on Stealt technology: a combination of steel and aluminium that is also used in many modern cars and aeroplanes. Both materials have their own specific
No use of rack-and-pinion but high-precision ball lead screws instead!
It is not very obvious to use ball lead screw in big machines. Some secondary technical phenomena and the cost price make designers decide easily to use rack-and-pinion. The precision and low-noise of spindles however are unequalled. Because the new CLR range has been designed to perform high-precision work, the Colinbus designers decided to look for their own solution. An ingenious system is responsible for keeping the spindles straight over the full length – every vibration is absorbed and whatever the speed, the spindle does not start to “dance”. All CLR machines can be equipped with double traction in the Y-axis. This option is recommended when high precision and high power are required. The two hybrid motors run parallel and are responsible for electronically checking the parallelism of the bridge. In this case it is also possible to deliver the machine with an open table-top so that much larger objects can be machined.
- All machines are standard equipped with a T-nut table. This table is made of stress-resistant and face-milled profiles. Work pieces can be clamped onto the table with the use of special T-nut blocks, stoprails or slide nuts.
- Traction through "High torque Hybridmotors". These motors not only give CLR machines high power at low speed but also a high holding torque at standstill.
- These machines have a 1 µm step resolution.
- Lead screws on all axes with ball screw nuts that have a repeatability precision of 0.01 mm.
- Double linear guidings on all axes. Adjusted without play and low-noise.
- Equipped with end and reference switches for precision re-positioning. Accuracy of appr. 0.01 mm.
- Fully built using Stealt principles which results in a stable machine with excellent characteristics.
- Flexible construction - special requests can be easily taken care of. "Open structure" possibility for machining of large objects.
- Maintenance-free construction which makes the machine still look as new after years.

Control
CLR machines are being delivered with a "state-of-the-art” controller electronics. It is not only the stable and precise mechanics that determines the overall precision of a machine but the traction in the first place. Colinbus has developed a processor board that takes care of the interpolation of the axes and provides a micron precise control of the drivers. The drivers are responsible for controlling the motors, the power part so to speak. Colinbus uses extra powerful ones in order to have a large power reserve. All in- and outputs to control milling motors, dispensers, camera’s etc. are also provided.

advantages and offer a large variety of possibilities if they are combined in the proper way. Steel brings the required weight and volume and the stress-free aluminium is responsible for unseen acceleration and deceleration curves. More and more manufacturers begin to use this technology but Colinbus is the first to come up with a Stealt machine in this price category. Because of this construction CLR machines can be used for a large variety of applications ranging from heavy-duty milling jobs to fine engraving work. Because of the very smooth run these machines are used for 3D laser scanning and camera recording as well.
Software
Colinbus CLR machines come standard with professional CAM software and a user-friendly User Interface. The Interface is compatible with most of the available Cam packages on the market. While most CNC machines need professional knowledge this is not the case for Colinbus machines. If desired, the user never gets to see CNC code. Everything occurs within the well-known Windows environment and handling of the machine is done by means of clear buttons. The working area is displayed on the computer screen as it is in reality which makes positioning and machining of the material extremely simple.
