Colinbus machines are known for their special construction. The use of aluminium and steel has many advantages.
All moving parts are strong and light but the basis that brings stability is robust and rigid. It is quite obvious that a light but strong bridge is less subject to inertia and can move faster than a heavy one. The result is the same.
These machines have been especially designed for fine engraving work or for milling light materials and plastics. They also form an ideal platform for 3D scanning, cutting, dispensing, camera recording or any other job which involves 3-axis movement.
Double traction in the Y-axis
CLR machines are equipped with a double traction in the Y-axis. Two motors and two spindles not only guarantee stability on the most-loaded axis but offer enormous possibilities and precision. Lead screws have a lot of advantages compared to the often used racks. A higher precision and a smoother run being the most famous ones. Parallelism of the bridge is being controlled by means of two parallel hybrid motors.
Because tractions are put on the side so that there is no central traction in the way it is possible to use the mid-part of the machine to manipulate bigger objects.
In this way CLR machines can be deliverd with a U-shaped front panel. So it possible to mount a device between the front legs that is much larger than the space under the bridge. These tables are frequently used in the electricity industry where quite often holes have to be made into switch boards.
Technical details
- All machines standard are equipped with a T-nut table. This table is made of stress-resistant and face-milled profiles. Work pieces can be clamped onto the table with the use of special T-nut blocks, stoprails or slide nuts.
- Traction through “High torque Hybridmotors”. These motors not only give CLR machines high power at low speed but also a high holding torque at standstill.
- Lead screws on all axes with ball screw nuts that have a repeatabilty precision of 0,01mm.
- Zero-tolerance and low-noise double linear guidings in all axes.
- End switches as well as reference switches for precise re-positioning. Accuracy of +/- 0,01 mm.
- Basic construction consists of a combined use of steel and aluminium.
This guarantees high rigidity and stability. All moving parts are strong and light.
- Flexible construction so that it is easy to adapt to customer's specifications. Possibility of open structure for manipulation of larger objects.
- Maintenance-free construction which still looks as new after years.

Control and software
CLR machines are being delivered with a “state of the art” controller electronics. It is not only the stable and precise mechanics that determines the overall precision of a machine but the traction in the first place. Colinbus has developed a processor board that takes care of the interpolation of the axes and provides a micron precise control of the drivers. The drivers are responsible for controling the motors, the power part so to speak. Colinbus uses extra powerful ones in order to have a large power reserve.
All in- and outputs to control milling motors, dispensers, camera’s etc. are also provided.
A lot of special attention was given to the “User
Interface”, the software
to control the machine. Colinbus is presumably the most easy-to-use machine on the market thanks to the intuitive software.
A clear screen design, no complex programming stuff but a simple push on the button to start working.
No better example can be given than that of an eleven-year old kid that was able to mill his own toys all on his own!

Accessories
- For all the machines there are dust and sound hoods available. On request doors can have safety switches and light signalization.
- Pneumatic, electrical and manual clamping systems that can be mounted directly onto the table are available. See Accessories List.
- Dust extraction systems, spindle motors, rotating heads (for the machining of cylindrical objects) and a lot of other accessories have been specially designed for these machines.
