Accessories for PCB milling machines

Repetitive milling of high-quality printed circuit boards requires not only the right machines, but also suitable tools and accessories. Although the PCB milling process offers major advantages, especially for small production volumes and prototypes, careful attention to detail is essential (as with all manufacturing processes). Here we present an overview of the accessories and consumables necessary for achieving perfect results.

Vacuum tables

This option ensures that the circuit board material, or whatever object is being machined, is drawn tightly against the work table. It is strongly recommended for routing stencils and milling thin PCB material, film and foil. However, it’s a well-known fact that standard PCB material can also have significant curvature, and in such cases this vacuum table is the perfect solution.

You can increase the versatility of your Colinbus machine by fitting it with a vacuum table and the Colinbus camera system. With this combination, you can align PCBs without using guide pins. All Colinbus machines can be equipped with these options.

Multipurpose cameras

Colinbus cameras are versatile, and they can do much more than just registering fiducial marks. You can use them to measure openings and milled paths, recognise shapes, align objects, for visual inspection, and of course, to correctly position multilayer laminates.

Colinbus cameras connect to a USB port, and after installation they become an integral part of the familiar ColiDrive control package (see photo).

Dust/noise cabinets

Although Colinbus machines are reasonably quiet and equipped with good dust-extraction systems, they can be a source of nuisance when installed in a quiet laboratory environment. The optional noise cabinet solves this problem. The cabinet is fitted with safety switches that remove power from the machine when the cabinet is opened. This function can be enabled or disabled by the user.
All cabinets can be equipped with a status lamp.

Consumables

At Colinbus, we have more than twenty years of experience with PCB milling, which gives you the assurance that all the selected tools perform optimally. All special tools have been designed by the Colinbus team. For example, the geometry and hardness of the milling cutters are specifically adapted to milling PCB material. The FR3 and FR4 material is procured from reliable suppliers and undergoes periodic quality inspections. Nothing is left to chance, because we know that inferior base materials or tools would reflect poorly on our machines.
